Anonymous

Don't bring around a cloud of rain on my parade.
--Barbara Streisand, "Funny Girl"

(NOTE: This is dedicated to the Commenter Anonymous whom I usually delete because he/she/it is very meanspirited and makes ad hominem (ad-feminem) remarks to me. This is not for all the Anons who have contributed to the conversation in a civil way. It is not a necessity to agree with me; but being kind and courteous is.)

There once was vile commenter Anonymous
For whom this blog post is eponymous
He/she'd rant and he/she'd rave
Being the opposite of brave
With the grace and manners of a hippopotamus!

You can't rain on my parade.

oh this fight is not over yet. hippopotamus' happen to be one of the most amazing and inspiring creatures walking this earth. god bless child. god bless.

Anonymous, come on out of the closet! Let everyone know who you are and debate away if you want to. Nothing wrong with that.

You're not a bad poet. No way!

Does this anonymous commenter have a point or is he/she/it just being a troll?

I can't imagine why anyone would have a problem with you Susan. Me, I can understand, but it's not like you are disputing the thimerosal hypothesis or something.

Oh well, you can't please all of the people all of the time.

Let me guess: "anonymous" is just another mean-spirited liberal that is still mad that you went to the White House. Here is a question: Why is it that liberals are always stereotyping conservatives as "mean", when it is ALWAYS the liberal that is the guy with the sour puss and self-righteous comments?

Just something to ponder...

I wanted the last line to be:
And then she'll always runfromous.

Andrew: it looks like you've just disproven your assertion that it is ALWAYS the liberal with the sour-puss!

Susan: you go girl!

Oh, Andrew, I miss you!!!!

Oh Ned you said what I wanted to say: Susan, YOU GO GIRL!

Fear and anger walk hand in hand with ignorance and close-mindedness.

Most of the time they walk namelessly.

Most of the time.

Some of know you bathe in El Sol, enriched by the fact that EVERYONE knows your name!

(grin)

I'm sure there's a Billy Joel song somewhere out there about this. It'll come to me, eventually.

I wouldn't give he/she a second thought. Delete away. I believe whatever SH*T one dishes out in life tends to come back tenfold. Also, I think this person sees something in you that they lack in themselves. Otherwise, unless he/she is a complete AS*, he/she would not continue to come back to read your blog. Something has touched he/she in some way that he/she is unconfortable with accepting.

Gotta love trolls on journals. They're the best!

Okay, not really.

Love the poem!

I'd have been a bit happier had you not dissed hippopotomi that badly, as I live in Hutto. :)

(What's fascinating is that it's reasonably "normal" behavior to have a concrete hippo on your front porch or in your yard in Hutto, and they'd probably think you were totally nuts if you did that in, say, Leander, which is in the same county but about 3 cities away. "Normal" is a cultural construct.)
