I was sitting (here) at my dining room table writing and I looked out my window at the neighbor&#8217;s lawn.  I thought at first that their was a rust-colored ball sitting there, which would not be that odd because she has four kids.  But a rust-colored ball?  Then I thought it was maybe a pair of balled-up socks.  I looked closer and saw that it was a harbinger of spring.
