Choreographing a Happy Moment

Natty is so down, so tired, so quiet. He is just not himself. He fell asleep at 8:30 on our livingroom couch.

I thought a little dancing would cheer us up. It only worked for one of us.

He’s may not be acting like himself because he is confused. While it is understandable that you wanted him home after only four nights in his new home it is weird for him. He may be thinking did I move or not? That could account for his quietness.

He’s probably exhausted and overwhelmed. It is a strange new setting with different people, sights and sounds at night. I’m sure it wil take him quite a while to get used to that and sleep normally for quite a while.

I would also expect any child, autistic or not, to be a little depressed. It is a huge change for him. I’m sure he misses his family and home during the week. Just because he can not verbalize that well doesn’t mean he isn’t thinking it.
