A LOST Cake for Season 6!

Watching LOST became a bonding experience for the family. Max has been obsessed with it for a few years, and so has my sister, so finally I decided to give it a try. I may not have been hooked if it hadn’t been for the enthusiasm of Max and Ben. But soon, I, too, was part of the whole Oceanic 815 experience, where I was trying to remember who was whom and what did that mean. The best thing about the whole LOST thing has been the way we have been talking about it at dinner, offering theories and even drawing a timeline to connect all the events and characters.

Today, LOST Season 6, The Final Season, premieres, and we will be glued to the TV, the only interruption allowed being Nat’s phone call from The House.

I baked a LOST cake to surprise Max. Now I’ll have to figure out a way to save a huge piece for Nat.for Friday.

Already saw the episode. It turns out that the entire "Lost" series was a dream of a brain surgery/coma patient on "St. Elsewhere". šŸ˜‰

I should send my husband to your house. He has all kinds of crazy theories. Myself? I fear I am not smart enough to watch the show, although I try.

I love your cake. How did you get the airplane to stay on top?

My family has bonded with this show as well. We record it and watch it next day without the commercials, ie incessant flipping of the channels during commercials by the Dad. Have a beautiful time.

My son is 19 and has Down's and Autism. There's no theorizing on his part. But he enjoys the family routine, as long as no one yells!

The cake stayed on top because the lower cake is slanted, due to an oven that cooks unevenly. I decided to make it into a sloping shoreline, and it worked well that way.

Yum! Lost fans are so creative. I'm in California so the episode hasn't even started yet, can't wait.

Did you get your fill of Sawyer? šŸ˜‰

Poor Sawyer. Why didn't they take Juliette to the Temple to be saved? They saved Sayid. And obviously the island needs her. Maybe the island just needs her to be there, dead or alive…

I always thought John was creepy.

When they got to the Temple, I kept expecting Indiana Jones to jump out and save everyone.

What did you think?

I don't know if I'll ever get my fill of Sawyer. oh, the way he looks at Kate!!

It WAS very Indiana-Jonesy. I think they should have had Juliet survive the Incident cave-in; why go to all that trouble digging her out, only to have her die? They should have brought her to the Temple, OR they should have made her like Desmond, someone who can flash all over time.
