I wrote about the tragedy involving a teenage boy on the autism spectrum, at a high school near us. A horrible topic, by the way. Just absolutely horrible. You can access the commentary on the Internet tomorrow at this link; it is for WBUR, Boston’s NPR station.
It will air on 1/23 at the end Morning Edition, after the cochlear implants story, during drive time (6:55 a.m. and 8:55 a.m. EST)

Best of luck!
He was a classmate of Phil’s a few years back. I meant email you and Ned earlier.
Oh, Dave. I’m so sorry. Hope Phil is okay…
I caught your broadcast this morning while I was driving to work. Well done, Susan. Interestingly, today the community health coalitions (one of which I participate) received a message from Dr. Edward Hallowell which began by saying “Because of the awful tragedy of last Friday, I am concerned that some people might believe that Asperger’s syndrome is a malignant condition. It would be a shame to compound the horror of last week by promoting a misunderstanding of Asperger’s syndrome.”
Keep up the good work to educate people about autism.
This is the second time I have heard you on NPR. There was such a sadness to your voice today, that I cried. I guess I cried for the family of the boy who was lost and for the family of the boy who is the suspect. I cried for my own baby grandson who is also struggling with autism and I wonder what his future holds. Thank you for putting out the word on autism and I wonder everyday how you do it.
