Here is a blog many of you already know about, but which I have only just discovered. What great timing for me, though. Vicki has such a deft and dignified prose; a lovely way of handling the huge and also the delicate, the excruciating and the delightful moments in her life. Her precious son Evan is gone, and all I can do is read about him and try to grasp how much he shaped and colored the lives of all around him. I have felt a lot of comfort and connection from reading this blog and I just wanted to share it today.

Just read the 7/31 entry, and am shaking.
I found Vickie when Evan passed…her strength and courage and grace move me in ways I can’t describe. Her Evan was a gift to the world.
I had read the “Mother at the Swing” and realized I’ve been on both sides of that swing. I still can’t believe that it can happen so quick like that.
I don’t know what I would do in her shoes.
Vicki F. is wonderful. Many hearts broke upon hearing the news. Many kids got an extra tight hug.

OMG- I read her stuff on literary mama and bookmarked it to check back periodically. I had no idea that her beautiful son died- I am really sad to hear that.
