All the world is a stage.
–Shakespeare
I had a great idea for the set design for the Baby Bellies Recital on Tuesday, so I’m still here instead of at the gym. So my idea is to use tiny Christmas lights (left over from our Halloween decorations) and create pyramid shapes or Arabesques against the back of the stage. Then I will take four veils and pin them in a tent shape in and around the lights. I heard from the office secretary that there will be some scenery left over from a morning Christmas concert at the school, so I will incorporate that stuff as well, unless it is horrendous.
I might have to ask the custodians to help me pin things up. I hope I can sweet talk them into it, or at least lending me a ladder.
I have made a little sketch to guide me, and here
it is:

I love your sketch and handwriting. I wish I was there to help. -Tina G.
I’m sure it will be beautiful. You have a good eye.
I thought of you and your “baby bellies”…my husband went out to eat at the Marrakesh in D.C., along with other History Day coordinators, last weekend. They have belly dancers, along with the food. It’s quite exotic, and my son was SO jealous!
Should be very colorful, and bellydancish! The drawing was quite good too. Good Luck, and I’m glad you have this diversion to turn to…it’s very healthy.

In New Orleans, you can watch belly dancing and avail yourself of $3 martinis! You know I’d need at least a bucketful before these hips would start shaking.
We did have a nice milestone yesterday. The last three years of getting Christmas trees has been very harrowing, and last year we had to abort the mission and wound up in tears. Well, yestrday Jared and his father went alone to get the tree and it was seamless. I shed a few happy tears over that bit of growth. Hooty Hoo!! Take the joy where you can find it!! Lisa
Hooty Hoo indeed! Lisa, as always, you guys rock! Merry Christmas!
If you come up here again to your Cape Cod haven, you ARE going to learn to bellydance, my girl…
