Great, Full

i thank You God for most this amazing
day:for the leaping greenly spirits of trees
and a blue true dream of sky; and for everything
which is natural which is infinite which is yes…
–e.e. cummings

So here’s what I’m grateful for:
1) A roof, though it needs work, over my head
2) That it is deep spring
3) A handsome husband who loves me and lusts me
4) Healthy sons
5) Living parents
6) Sister who is a friend
7) Three new friends in the past few months: W, L, M
8) Very old friends, too who are still in touch with me
9) My liberal town and ultra-lib and fun Cambridge right nearby
10) Israel
11) Resperdone and Prozac
12) My therapist
13) Gel nails
14) Comedians: Phil Hartmann, Jerry Seinfeld, Darryl Hammond, Will Ferrell, Brian Regan, Dane Cook
15) Hewlett Packard + brainy husband
16) Belly dance
17) Benji’s teacher
18) Nat’s school
19) the IDEA
20) that the Democrats control Congress

OK. I have to say this because I am standing here laughing my fool head off. I read that you are thankful for gel nails. Now, I am not all that girlie and don’t do makeup and really anything else like that so, while I know what they are… I am standing here trying to figure out how you could possibly hammer gel nails into anything… I need some sleep.

I am thankful for your post giving me a much needed belly laugh.

I have just been googling around and discovered what that surname of yours means in Latin, I am sure Kristina might back me up, but the roots of Senator, mean “old man” cos that is what they wuz originally back when the Etruscans were Etruscans like the Aldermen on our Council that never were no Counsel to the wise.

As to what my surname means? … it means in old high german, gothic and what have you, the power of eagles and not your brass roman ones neither. What happened to them legions in the teutonic forest eh?????? learn that well you haughty Americans abroad in lands you cannot conquer nor quell!

quis dixit Augustus ad varum? pardon my latin.

Uh, can you explain what gel nails are? I’m intrigued.

Anon: Huh?? Can you explain a little what you are talkin’ ’bout?

Lizzie Hoop/Drama: gel nails are just brushed on goo that harden and can be shaped how you like, and then the polish sticks for two weeks!!!!!!!! Hooray! No hammering necessary.

I won’t hold your politics against you.

I would be grateful if W was impeached, but I’ll settle for our troops coming home and lower gas prices. I also am grateful for your blog. It keeps me positive, and it’s affirming.
