Dancing With My Mom

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I started bellydancing in June of 2006. Recently I got my 82 year old mother to try it! This is the story, run by my alumni mag the Pennsylvania Gazette. Enjoy!

I read your article in our alumni magazine. That’s cool that you and your Mom belly danced together. It was fun to compare Moms since we’re the same age. You mentioned your Mom was somewhat unusual in that she worked outside the home. My Mom was also (somewhat) unusual in that she worked full-time as an X-ray Tech and then Supervisor for about 18 years before getting married and having kids. (After that she was a SAHM). You and I were the opposite regarding ballet — your Mom was unsure about the class but you wanted to take it. My Mom required me to take ballet for over 5 years but I never enjoyed it, lol. Anyway — fun read.
